Delete your Zibfo Shield account

You can delete your Zibfo Shield account and everything stored with it at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed. If you arrived here from Settings → Delete account in the app, you are in the right place — requests are handled here so that they work even after you uninstall.
How to request deletion
Send us an email. You must send it from the email address you signed in with, so we can match the request to your account.

What happens next:
- We reply to that same address with a confirmation link and a one-time code. We send it to the address on your account rather than acting on the request directly, so that nobody can delete your account by forging an email.
- Reply with the code, or open the link, within 7 days. If you do not, the request expires and nothing is deleted — you can simply start again.
- Once confirmed, we delete your account and all associated data within 30 days, and email you when it is done.
Deletion is permanent. Once it is done we cannot restore your account, your filter rules, or your activity history. If you only want to stop new data being recorded, you can turn protection off in the app or revoke the VPN permission in Android settings instead — nothing is sent to our servers while filtering is off.
What gets deleted, and when
As soon as we process your request:
- Filtering stops. Your device's filtering credentials are revoked first, so nothing further is recorded about your browsing from that moment on.
- Your account and sign-in record, including your email address and name.
- Every device registered to your account.
- All of your settings, category selections, and custom block and allow rules.
Your existing lookup history — the record of the site names your device requested — is deleted by automatic expiry rather than by hand. Every entry is removed 30 days after it was recorded, and because your credentials are revoked immediately no new entries can be added. So within 30 days of your request, none of it remains.
What is kept, and for how long
- Crash and analytics records. Aggregate crash reports and usage statistics that are not linked to your identity or your browsing activity may remain, since they cannot be traced back to your account.
- Legal records. If we are legally required to retain something — for instance in response to a valid legal order — we will keep only what the law requires, and only for as long as it requires.
Nothing else is retained.
Before you delete
Zibfo Shield is free and has no subscriptions or purchases, so there is nothing to cancel first. Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete your account — send the email above.
